August 15th marked the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. Daisaku Yoshimura (45), a man who pours his strong desire to make people in Osaka understand the horrors of the atomic bomb into his picture-story shows, is one such individual. With the hope that “people all over the world will also learn about it,” he continues his activities in conjunction with the opening of the World Expo, and on August 12th, he was scheduled to perform at the Expo’s United Nations Pavilion. We interviewed Mr. Yoshimura about his motivations and the origins of his activities.

８月１５日、終戦から８０年となりました。大阪に原爆の悲惨さをとにかく知ってほしいという“強い”思いを紙芝居に込め披露する男性、吉村大作さん（４５）がいます。「世界の人たちにも知ってほしい」と、万博の開幕に合わせて活動を続け、８月１２日、万博・国連パビリオンで披露することになった吉村さんの思いや活動のきっかけを取材しました。
